I've been following the Olympic events with interest. Is it me or have there been more injuries to individuals this year! Hope you've had a chance to watch.

Yes, the number of bruised egos and sore heads is at an all time high.

It's Olimpic games are very hard in this year! So many bugs!

Men's cycling had such a ugly accident the Olympic Committee pulled the video from YouTube.

I can imagine. Cycling always looks crazy to me when I see those huge packs and front wheels right next to rear wheels.

Just goggled it and read the story, no video as I really do not need to see it,

"The difficulty of the course with its technical climbs and descents and section of cobble stones was shown by the fact that only 63 of the 144 riders finished."

Interesting, Phelps will need to participate (and win a gold) in the next Olympics to be the all-time record holder.

I'm a tad surprise by the medal count. Seems Russia is not racking up a lot yet...does that have to do with the doping scandal ya' think? Japan and Australia certainly are making a good showing.

I knew Russia's medal count would be down after learning their weightlifting team was disqualified along with various others in different disciplines for , yes drugging. The USA have some 500+ qualified for the games China 450+. The Russians 200+. That gives some perspective. It was something to watch when all the teams were filing into the stadium and watching Russia come in with its diminished numbers.

When I posted in response to your post I didn't realize Phelps had another race. So Phelps wins another Gold.

So there is no question now. Phelps is the greatest Olympian of all-time!! The most Gold Medals accumulated in all of the history of man-kind.

When I posted in response to your post I didn't realize Phelps had another race. So Phelps wins another Gold.

So there is no question now. Phelps is the greatest Olympian of all-time!! The most Gold Medals accumulated in all of the history of man-kind.

I agree, but I would like to see him swim in armor to top it off.

The next best thing, today if he wins his 5th gold of this Olympics.

It was very fun watching the men's rugby. I do hope that Rugby Sevens are here to stay. [:)]

Australia usually does well early in the games when the swimming is on. We tend to fall back later when the track and field events start. Maybe this year will be different!

There are a few days remaining before the Olympics are concluded. There was a discussion of the disappointment for the Country of India for not investing more money in training its athletes for the Olympics. Their athletes are frustrated with the lack of support. So I was curious as to what a country spends in training their athletes. England, spends the most 4 and a half million pounds to produce an athlete to gain a gold.
