Does the game take terrain into account for Surface Search radars. To be specific, if a PB is hiding in a cove up against a large land mass, is there any benefit as far as hiding from enemy Surface Radars?

Yes, although the UI is not verbose about how this is modeled, it is indeed modeled. Some examples can be found in the Northern Inferno and Northern Fury scenarios (Norwegian missile boats hugging the coastline).

From my limited experience the only effect terrain has is blocking LOS. So you can be seen with eyeball/radar or you are behind a rock/peninsula, no vagueness or noise caused by proximity to terrain.

Yes, proximity to land mass increases the terrain clutter factor. This is not an on/off thing, it varies depending on the total area of land mass around the ship.

My mistake. I'll need to do some more testing with that. My attempts so far using P960s, one nestled in a cove and the other out to sea result in them picking each other up on radar at the same time. My assumption was that the one out at sea would be spotted first. I assume then that it may be a property of the type of radars they are using, in that it's very good at distinguishing ships from terrain clutter?
On the subject of radars, I've seen some screenshots of an excel sheet with radar stats around. Are those details public? I know nothing about radar systems and haven't been able to distinguish between them beyond the basic range and function (air search, FCR etc.), some numbers like those in that excel sheet would be really helpful.
