Chariots of War Vista hotfix problem

When I`m trying to run the game with the vista hotfix the game just crashes to desktop and I get the error "Install CRC Failure. Try reinstalling the game to fix this error". I have also tried the new 1.2.1 hotfix, over at Slitherine, but with the same result.
Without the hotfix the game starts normally and it says that I`m on version 1.15
This is on win7 64-bit
Does anyone have a clue on what the issue is?
