I played the 1940 Campaign as the Axis, with Intermediate difficulty.

I captured Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg on turn 1, using a paratrooper to capture the Hague.

I captured Paris on turn 4 (July 7th), and the French asked for an armistice that turn.

I am pleased with the Allied AI defence of France. There were not any obvious holes in the defensive line. The AI had a full strength armoured unit defending Paris, which was somewhat difficult to kill, being fortified.

When France surrendered, I plundered 1233 MP, which is great.

In summary, I am pleased with this campaign's initial forces for both sides, and the AI defensive play.
As France historically signed the Armistice on June 22nd, my game results almost mirror the historical time frame for this campaign.

I will now play again, this time with the next level of difficulty.

Update. This time played the 1940 Campaign as Axis, this time at Veteran level.

I still took Paris and France asked for an armistice on turn 4 (July 7th).

However I took heavier armour and air losses this time.

Again, I am pleased with at how the Allied AI played.
