Thanks for this, I've made some corrections to Crete and to Rhodes.

With Sicily I've taken a look but the map is already very close to matching googlemaps, and where it isn't the range of options available don't enable me to make the changes specified, e.g. the area around Messina.

Is it possible to add a frame to the lower part of the map?
It is impossible to move units when they are covered by the UI, so it would be great if the frame would be big enough (4 hexes?) to move the menu into it, freeing the view to the first bottom hexes of the map. Right now you have to move the screen to the left or right, can't say that I love this.

Agree with Mr. Wormwood, and this has been mentioned a couple times already.

Patras is NOT an inland city, and is one of the largest ports in modern Greece.

I was going to leave the positioning of cities and ports for another set of posts, but this is serious enough to mention now.

The map is not hand drawn. It has a limited set of bitmaps for creating coastlines and islands. We need to accept the fact that many areas may look a little distorted due to this and the need for strategic play. Bill has done a great job with the tools at hand.

Hi Philippe,

Thanks for the feedback and I'll just echo what David mentioned above in that this is not a hand drawn map, but a map created from a set of hexes that we've manipulated to create the map of Europe. The upside of course is that it then allows us and modders to do completely customized maps and scenarios, but the downside of course is that there are sometimes some compromises to be made in the pursuit of perfection.

One way to get a better understanding of the difficulty is to crack open the Editor and attempt some of the proposed changes yourself, sometimes it is doable, and sometimes it can be quite the challenge.

From Bill's responses, he is taking a look and will make as many adjustments as possible, but in the end sometimes we can only get as close as we would like with the tools in hand. Hopefully this is understandable?

Hubert

I like the maps and am not sure if those tweaks will affect the realism or playability of the game,

Personally I wouldn't change anything. The map is working very well as it is, and the balance has been excellent. It would be nice to have the extra un-used strip at the bottom of the map, but I've honestly worked around that just fine. I played a very long campaign through all of Africa and the Middle East and somehow got used to the limited space.

Hello Philippe.

I would be pleased if you could develop a "extended" map as a basis for further mods with the editor. Tip: For more details the map scale should be slightly enlarged. Ok, this also means that all the target coordinates of AI- and Event-Scripts must be re-entered. A lot of work for little benefit but you can do that determined...I trust in you! [8|]
