Lots of access errors all of a sudden it seems.

Hi,

I am playing the scenario "A Test of Wills" PBEM. We are about halfway through the scenario and I cannot play the current turn as I am getting access errors. Any help is appreciated.

Here is the error box and the saved turn in a zipped file.

Hi z, nice to see you here again. Sorry about the access violations. The zip file does not appear to have a saved game in it. Can you upload it here so I can take a peek at it? I'm hoping it will be an easy fix.

take care, Rob C

Hi Jim, Hi Robert,

Thank you both for your replies. The game version number is 2.0.10b. It is a PBEM Classic game.

The saved game is included. I have been playing FPRS PBEM for quite a while now and really enjoying it. I had access errors once before but they went away by my exiting the game and starting it again. I had to exit and re-enter a few times before the game ran properly. This time I cannot find a fix.

Thanks again for your help,

John

John, as you may know, 10b has some stability issues in PBEM that I believe we have addressed in the soon to be seen 2.0.11 Update. We will check out your save file nonetheless to be sure.

I played the move again and this time successfully. I went into task manager and closed a couple of programs that I thought, only by intuition, might be conflicting with the game.

I also noticed that the game seemed to generate access errors when I was assigning direct support orders so I did that first. Who knows why but after a week of trying this time it worked. Hurrah!!

What programs did you shut down? I seem to recall a DS bug getting worked on. I will be very interested in the programs. We are not the only game to have problems with certain running software.

Thanks for the update.

Hi Jim,

I closed all the programs having to do with Adobe products. I should add that unit pathing was not working properly either. It works now. When my opponent sends his next turn I will post as to how my turn plays. Generally the game runs very well and without problems. So based on my experience I would say it is quite stable.
