Two questions about Finland

In the Barbarossa scenario that I'm currently playing as soon as the war starts the Soviet AI launches an offensive into Finland.

This doesn't seem right, and to make things worse, the Finns seem badly outnumbered.

Could we make the Finns a little stronger, and not have the Soviets launch a first turn offensive into Finland?

Assuming masses of Soviet troops don't march into Helsinki, is there anything to make the Finnish army behave the way they actually did in WW II ?

Is there a script that makes them stop at the 1939 border, or will they march all the way to Moscow in a successful Continuation War?

Hi Philippe!

I think I can answer this.. it was me who recommended two lower the strength of the Finnish Army. Usually I played on expert level vs. the Allied AI, and in the older versions it was quite easy to defeat the Soviet units and conquer Leningrad from the north before Army Group North arrived.

I do also play the 1941 campaign atm, and I think the Finnish troops are modeled just right. They can defeat the Soviets and march to the northern border of Leningrad, but they cannot conquer it without German help, so I think the balance is perfect.

I have also begun my first 1941 campaign as axis power on expert level. The Finns could stabilise their front sector rather fast and now have struggled slowly to the north border of Leningrad. Now they wait for German support. The Finnish troops are modeled just right, agree. However, against a human opponent I dare to predict an early end of the Finns. Two Russian tanks and a bomber in this area will tilt the balance and by the "early" war entry of the Finns the Germans can hardly react. A Finnish AT unit for Allied multiplayer could help.
