Cavalry Corps

Hello,
I think that there are errors with the values of the Cavalry Corps 41 & 42.
-The first remark is that the Cavalry Corps'42 is before in the list with regard to the Cavalry Corps'41.
-The second remark is that the Cavalry Corps'42 is less expensive compared with the Cavalry Corps'41.
-The third remark concerns the values of fight. Cavalry Corps'41 is better against infantry than Cavalry Corps'42. So it seems that it would be enough to invert names to solve the problem but with the values of fight and defence against the tank it seems more vague.

What we need here is a comparison of 1941 and 1942 cavalry corps.

Germany could also benefit from late war cavalry units, even if they are battalion size. After all, Romanian cavalry performs well in Moldova (if the commander knows how to use them) and German 20th Cavalry is as good as any infantry division. Warfare gets mechanised but cavalry still has its moments of glory in WW2.

Hi folks,

the values are based on the TOE tables of my sources. The June '41 in theory had up to 256 tanks('42: no tanks),roughly 20k men ('42: 14k) and more mortars.

Of course the war was not that static and reality had quite different constellations due to partly chaotic situations especially in '41.

Production would not allow all equipment be at hand at all the time etc. Tanks e.g. do just reappear in the Cavalry Corps TOE in 1943 due to shortages and the priority to Tanks Corps.

The '41 also has a weaker version in December 1941 which would almost invert the the values compared with '42, but this is left out in Germany at War.

So the onyl thing left is the sorting, i will have a look on what it is based in the editor.

Regards,

Hi Marechal,

What do you think of having ELITE German Cavalry (Florian Geyer Cavalry Div) ?

Hi terminator,

That would be a useful unit for the late war. We do not have many late war missions now but if modding goes on we will have more.

About German cavalry,

In the scenario Kutno (15 september 1939), I wanted to compare the Polish cavalry with the German cavalry but I realized that the German cavalry was available only from 25/10/39 (?).
I think that the German cavalry should be available from the beginning of the war ?

Actually a Soviet Cavalry Division had a max of 64 BT Tanks in it's TOE. So if you had 3 divisions in a corp that would be less than 200 tanks of any kind. But they probably didn't have that many since there was a severe shortage of tanks and everything else.
