It's never been safe to kiss a goat, and still isn't. You might lose a lip.

I am sooo over professional sports... but -
I had to watch that game last night also.
Good to see the Cubs win the big one again finally - since it's been 108 years!
Just too bad that it had to be against the Indians - the next longest streak (1947?)

Anyway - nice one Cubbies!

The best two teams in baseball, decided in game 7, by one run. Someone's heart was bound to be broken [:(]

My father is 96 and grew up a Cubs fan. His mother was from north Chicago and his father from Porter, IN, but he grew up in Muskeageon, MI. In the 30s, when the weather was right he could hear the Cubs games on the radio.

He's lived in California since 1940 and follows the Angels and Dodgers more than the Cubs, but he's always had a soft spot for them. When we first got expanded satellite in the 1980s, he watched most of the Cubs games on WGN for a few years. It's really amazing as much time as he's been here, his Cubs have not won a World Series until last night. And they did it in dramatic fashion too.

My Dad is from Peoria IL, about 150 miles SW of Chicago, he grew up there in the 1920's - 40's, and was a Cub's fan.
In Frank Sinatra's tribute song to Chicago: 'My kind of town ... Chicago is - " from Robin and the seven hoods, Frank ad-lib's with the line "The Basement Cubbie's - Chicago is..."

I guess it took a long time to live that down

Indians last win was '48.

I read where some Cub fans wanted to lose. Guess the idea of "Wait 'till next year" was too ingrained.

Some of the aura around the Red Sox did go away when they overcame the Curse of the Babe. Still a legendary team, but not like before.
