I was looing aroung the game files wondering what they do when I noticed that there folders onbtaining .tos files in the DATA directory. What do these files do and what is the tmerge.exe for?
I tried editing the .tos files to establish waht they do but they seem to be a wase of space

Try deleting them. You will notice the game isn't worth playing without titans.

The tmerge function is used to merge someone else's titan database into your own, so you can use their titans as well as yours.

I deleted the .tos files that had the names of some of the titans. There were only three under the LIGHT folder and it didn't seem to make any diffs

I think the folders with the names light, medium, heavy, assault only contain titans that you've created in the factory. The standard ones are somewhere else.

I thought the .tos files in the five data folders were just printouts from the pinboards. They don't seem to have any purpose except for giving you a printout of your design (so you can copy them to a messageboard).
They are very small though so they don't waste a lot of space.
