Hey,

So I recently got the urge to play Close Combat. I played the original back in the 90's I guess and it was definitely the best computer game/war game I ever played. I have almost no real technical computer knowledge but would love to play ANY version of the game so long as it works easily.

I'm using a fairly new (2 years old I think) computer that runs on windows 10, is there a version that will work without having to do anything special to get it going?

Cross of Iron should run on Windows 10, though it uses an old version of DirectX and a screen mode that Windows 10 doesn't officially support, so it is possible there could be problems depending on your video card, etc.

Close Combat Wacht am Rhein, The Longest Day, and Last Stand Arnhem will work on Windows 10 if you run the game in windowed mode (as opposed to exclusive full screen mode.) The game window can be the full screen size, it just can't be in DirectX exclusive mode.

Close Combat Panthers in the Fog and Gateway to Caen use a newer version of the game engine and run fine on Windows 10 in exclusive or windowed mode.
