Morale Recovery

My Panzers are always low on Morale and Readiness, which I kind of expect as they are constantly active. So I started keeping them as close to 10 strength as possible, and trying to keep HQ nearby. Then I was resting some behind the lines and watching their levels not go up so much [compared to the time scale]. So I cracked open the manual and found the formula for morale recovery.

The screen shot highlights a unit that arrived new last turn, at 50 and 50 for Readiness and Morale. So it sat for a turn and gained 4 and 9. Applying the formula this didn't seem correct. I spread it out so that each line is a progression of the calculation, hope it makes sense.

50/10 x .75 + [10 - 50/10 x .75] x [7/10 x 50/10]

5 x .75 + [10 - 5 x .75] + [.7 + 5]

3.75 + [13.75] + [5.7]

= 23.2

So I think the unit should have gained 23 Morale, not 9. This is in July. Either I miss something, or my math is wrong, or maybe I'm not getting what I should ?

It was pointed out in another thread that my math was wrong, so I thought I should post the corrected formula.

50/10 x .75 + [10 - 50/10 x .75] x [7/10 x 50/100]

5 x .75 + [10 - 5 x .75] x [.7 x .5]

3.75 + [3.75] x [.35]

= 2.62

So a unit with Morale of 50, Strength of 10 and Supply of 7 can expect to get a 2.62 Morale increase, if the math is correct this time. [8|]
