Was told to put this in it's own thread:
My game locks up the entire computer when I exit the game! Nothing works: not Esc; not even trying to bring up the Task Manager. Can't access the task bar either. Can't access anything. Mouse will still move around, but it can't click on anything (L or R). If there's an open window, and I move the mouse into it, it'll just spin in there----forever, or until I move it outside of the open window. Have had to hard kill the machine three times now. Very unhappy about this as I'm not going to play it, if I know I'm going to have to hard stop the machine after every session. Ideas?
If it was on Steam, I would have refunded my first game ever.
(Win7 x 64, 16 gig ram, Nvidia GTX 770)

Where do you have your game installed? What's the full path?

When you exit do you see the scrolling credits? Thinking that perhaps for some reason the credits aren't loading properly for you.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe

Uninstall the game and install in a folder different than C:\Program Files (x86), like for example C:\Games.
Run the game and check if the issue persists.

That worked! Thanks. And odd. My other games work in the default setup folder. So, I'm guessing that when the game patches/updates, it won't automatically find it in the new spot?

They will be installed where the game is installed, regardless if it's the default location or not.
So yes, they will be installed in your new installation folder.
