Plunder MPPs

I seem to remember reading something to the effect that the plunder MPPs that result from a surrendering country, go to the side that caused the surrender. Example: if an Italian unit occupied Moscow and caused Russia to surrender, would the plunder MPPs go to Italy?

I have tried searching for this in the forum but all my search attempts turn up empty.

I'm trying to understand how Italy's MPPs can be increased.

Any comments and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

C

Perhaps you might search the manual instead of the forums [;)]

5.10. Conquering Countries
A country will only surrender if their capital has
been captured and if enough of their current land
forces have been destroyed. The nationality of the
unit occupying the surrendering country’s capital
determines who the country surrenders to, and
they will receive Plunder
in MPPs providing the
country surrenders by direct conquest rather than
by an in-game event.

That's why I take care that Italian units take Athens, Belgorod and Cairo. It's quite possible to boost the Italian income closer to the level of the UK this way. You can really get a little snowballing off the ground: More MPPs mean more industrial research, which means more MPPs etc ...

Yes of course, the manual! Now why didn't I think of that...
