Yeah, I have the game and all it's expansions, hopefully review it soon:)

As for Amazon he has only just sent out the game to those who Kick started it so I expect ones for retail wont be available yet.

I did notice that the NWS store had a bunch, very expensive but look good
What do you like about these games compared to computer games?

It's a whole different experience. Obviously a lot more tactile. I even love the smell of the rule book and counters! Once you've got the bug you'll end up with more than just the first one you buy.

Some games aren't made for solo but work very well, like Wing Leader by GMT games. Though on the whole I do try and buy games aimed with solo in mind or at least do some research about the solo experience..however...you can find yourself going down the "collector" route where just owning and looking at the game is enough!! It happens...plus some games once out of print become an investment if the demand is still very high for them and a reprint seems along way off if ever.

When you get the game and see what you've got compared to a PC disk you realise that actually price for price boardgames are pretty damn cheap..considering the printing costs etc etc.

If you are into air combat you can't go wrong if going to play solo with one of DVG games. B17 will arrive next year.

Warfighter WW2 is a def buy if you like 1vs1 scale or the modern version if you prefer modern warfare. Poor reviews are few and far between if at all. The only game recently to come in for some negative remarks is Tiger Leader BUT a new FREE update made with the help of the players is available to download and will be available to get physical format soon (when Sherman leader comes out I believe)

I say decide on either solo or 2 or more player game then do your research, it is a big investment but choose right and you wont look back and easy get your monies worth. All of DVG games will be reviewed at the blog eventually..

Good review.
I am interested in getting into wargame boardgames, so I was doing some research and such, therefore I asked Santa to get me DVG's Field Commander: Rommel for Xmas, I just wanted a solo game with campaign I am interested in or wanted to learn more about it, I think this game is good start.
Dont know how it will go from there, maybe I will become addicted to boardgames, any recommendation for a good 1 to 2 players boardgame with short gameplay time and medium complexity?

Thanks

Wodin,

Can you recommend some one player board games?

I tend to prefer strategic to tactical but enjoy both?

American Civil War / WW2 if any are out there? Although any period would be fine.

Thanks

Sherman Leader it's on Kickstarter and they are offering a free DVG game for everybody who pledges for the game.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/11 ... =user_menu

It will also bring an update kit for Tiger Leader.

Wow, that's quite a deal. $70 for Sherman Leader and your choice from a ton of great games. Plus a bunch of Kickstarter goodies for the game. I know I paid more than that for Field Commander Napoleon by itself.

Because of the update kit for TL I was already considering pledging for Sherman Leader...
Now it's irresistible. FC:N is on my wishlist, so this is a real good deal. [:)]
