Opponent wanted

I'm after an opponent for my first time doing a PBeM game. I've had plenty of experience with WiR, just never bothered to try out the PBeM function of the game before, and now I'm tired of the AI, I'm going to see how I shape up against a real opponent (though I imagine I'll get trounced)
I'll play either side, preferably the Campaign 1941 scenario, help on even.
Drop me a line @

I am playing against Gwynn.
End of second turn: he is in front of Kiev. Will I hold the city?
He didn't surrounded my tank corps and I have now plenty of tanks ...

Your tanks were withdrawing faster than I could cut them off, though I can see that this is going to cause me hell later on.
All them Russians are fleeing faster than I can keep pace with them.

27 - 7 - 1941
Germany has lost more than 1000 tanks!!!
However a huge army is trapped in Mogilev. Nothing can be done to save these 500 000 men.
The Kiev front was shattered.

O.K.W. Reports that the encirclement battle at Mogilev has been completed with substantial Bolshevik forces falling into German hands.
Though progress for Army Group's North and Centre has not been what was expected, Army Group South is still making substantial progress, as the battle around Kiev rages.
As for Axis tank losses, O.K.W. blamed skillful Bolshevik withdrawals, leading to the preservation of a large force of enemy tanks, as well as misuse of our own tanks.

Very high tank losses for the first month. You could be in trouble later. You are evidently facing a very skilled opponent. Matt

I won't be sending German troops to Finland, I've got more pressing concerns. They include breaking the dead lock around Kiev, and securing Moscow before winter.

8-17-41: Great Russian Victories
one panzer korps shatterd near Kiev!
2 Pz K trapped in a pocket south of Leningrad.
The only problem is Army Group Center : too much troops were sent to Leningrad and Kiev, and now Moscow is in grat danger!

Today is a great day of morning for the Reich as two Panzer Korps were smashed near Leningrad. Despite this set back, O.K.W. remains confident that Moscow can be taken within the next 4 weeks.
In additional news, one Panzer Korps was freed from encirclement east of Kiev. O.K.W. has been suprised at the amount of Bolshevik forces that have been encountered in the North and South.

Very even tank losses for this stage of the game. Russian tanks losses are very low. Axis losses are worryingly high.

Given that situation, and my high tank loses (It was never this hard against the A.I. :p ), it has been decided, Moscow or bust. I'm very near it already, it's just a matter of taking it now that will take some time.

first week of october
Units near Moscow cannot entrench more than level 3!!!
They should be 5 or 6 already
Moscow hex stands at 3. Is it normal???
In Leningrad e. level is 9 and Kharkow 6
Normally in big cities units can go up to e 9, 1 level each turn
The German offensive has stopped North and south after their have losses.
They put everything they have to take Moscow!
Comrades, only one battle is to win, and then we will throw our aggressors back.

Once again my lack of experience against a human opponent shows. I am punished for mistakes severely, with a Panzer Korp and an Infantry Corp currently cut off from out central armies.
The thrust on Moscow is being halted for now, as this week has bought the first snow of the year, and O.K.W. is sure that the rain's that will follow will prevent us from adequately maintaining a forward position. Instead, O.K.W. has dictated that, as soon as the rains pass, we shall launch one final attempt to break the Bolshevik line before Winter.

Units will only automatically entrench up to a certain level, 3 I believe. After that, there is only a chance of entrenching, so it sounds like you are failing this. Also, entrenching is impossible in certain weather, although I thought it was only in blizzard.

and the german front collapses
I have never seen that before
more than 75% of german corpses shattered!
How could it be explained?
My opponent forgot to remove tank corps and they were shattered too. Hi has nothing to prepare a summer offensive
I begin to belive I can win in 1942!
Have a look at the losses:
sq/afv/guns/air
AXIS:
39788/6491/17533/5479
SOVIET:
56704/9842/15866/16770
I don't know how he can rebuild his 17533 lost guns! I think germany produces 100 guns a week. I am producing more than 300.
Same thing for tanks, I am producing maybe 300+ (and it will grow)
I have a lot of guard rifle divisions and tank regiments.

1942 Go Go Go. Tremendous defence in terms of limited losses. You must be overflowing with reserves!!!

*hangs head in shame*
1812 all over again it seems. Never played the winter on 3.3, then again, I've never played against a human opponent, so that's quite probably why I've failed so miserably.
Needless to say the Wehrmacht is preparing new defence lines, and if need be, we'll retreat right back to the Fatherland itself.
1942 will be the decisive year in this campaign.
