Russian bi-plane bombers have been neutered in this latest beta.
I may even move these factory's to the next city sillyflower overruns.
They are now useless. My crappy aircorp is also now useless.

There were useless in real life too. The 100+ casualties per bombing run was sci-fi. Really anyone thinks that bunch of obsolete bi-planes can do any damage at night?

I'am also concerned that daylight airfield raid with good bombers like IL-4 are now not very efficient too. It is now very hard to destroy aircraft on ground. Even without any air defense.

This will be fixed. Old ways of bombing (pre-1.09.01) will return (new features #10 and #16 from 1.09.01 will be reverted).

I'm sure Goering promised Hitler they would!

Respectfully, I will present the opposite point of view.
The U-2VS are far from being useless, even with current rules.
If placed one or two hexes behind the front and away from the hotspots, an airfield with nine U-2VS bombers can easily do eight or ten daylight bombing attacks pr turn (depending on weather) against the opposing German infantry. Doing this with some 40+ U-2VS Air Groups, I do about 2-3000 German dead and on average 500 guns lost pr turn against the Germans.
I'm NOT saying you should put them in hotspots where you will face Bf 109F-4's or FW190A's early war because that will cause HEAVY losses, nor should you use them for ground support. But if used right, they can be very cost efficient, I think.
I think the U-2VS were somewhat overpowered in the "old" rules, as U-2VS were often better at pre attack bombings than IL-2's for example. During daylight, I believe the U-2VS are CERTAINLY vastly overpowered as they are now. They were so slow that even handheld firearms would prove a threat against the pilots, so when attacking MG's and rifles should actually be allowed to fire at them during daylight.
I think the "right" choice is to give them some "light" to hit modifier at night, while prohibiting them from flying during the day.
But I certainly will continue to use them if they are not nerfed any further.

I have noticed much the same effect.
I have also noticed that bombing against enemy airfields seems to be more effective against an airfield that has just spent movement points. I am not sure if this is actually the case, but I think I have had somewhat better results with my attacks in those instances.
For some reason, I also think that bombing the Axis Minor airfields tend to give more ground losses than bombing the German airfields. I guess that is due to morale, but I am not sure.

Their main effect was the morale loss for German troops.
The fact that they were in production all the way through the war and even used in Korea, shows that they were effective.
They generally switched of their engines on approach, gliding in for tree top attacks attacks at night, meaning there was no warning of the coming attack. Off course this effect is not handled well by WitE, so some "added" casulaties to their attacks are in order.
According to WIKI, it is also the only bi-plane in hostory ever to down a jet fighter in a dog fight (during the Korean War). The fighter pilot tried to slow down enough that he could keep the U-2VS in his sights, but ended up below his stall speed and crashed.

On the other hand, micro managing tons of small raid each turn, in order to maybe or maybe not have an effect on the long run is not a very fun and efficient gameplay.
