Is Steam Key Worth it?

I'm not very trusting of Steam so won't buy game through it. I hate Steam's Big Brother monitoring of game play time and incessant updates that are merely excuses to pester us with marketing we don't want.

So why would I want to redeem Steam keys for this game if I buy it directly from Matrix? What benefit is there? More content that can't be gotten from anywhere else?

Automatic updates and it's a great gaming community...10 million gamers, young and old, I was born in 1949! [:)]

wings7,
You've got me by 3 years for being older. I don't care about automatic updates, that'll most likely happen through the game launcher at my whim.

Any additional content that might be worth having? I just don't like Steam playing Big Brother monitoring my playing time, nor do I like their worthless constant updates that are nothing but marketing scams.

I'll buy from Matrix directly as well as download my program from Matrix, then I can decide whether I actually want to claim a Steam key. I've not done it yet for any Matrix game.

i think it's a good platform, ease of use, and all under one roof, no matter how many pc's iv'e owned, my steam collection stays the same, manual back up or steam cloud, it's saved and safe, user name only been lost once, and recovered in a day or so, so yes, well worth it imo

Heck, anyone who uses a cellphone, email, internet is being tracked these days. Hopefully, the government is looking at the ISIS operatives instead of us playing an online game of B1.

Anyway, Steam will come in handy when switching machines. Plus, you can't beat the sales. I use both. Feel safe with Steam, Origin etc. They want our business not how we wipe outburst, hehe[:)]
