Hi - I am new to WON so apologies if this is a dumb question - but what are engagement points exactly, I cannot find them mentioned anywhere in the pdf manual, I can see the total at the top of the screen, and I can see that some Military Reforms cost 'x' engagement points but I have no idea what they are. The name suggests something to do with combat engagement but I cannot find any connection between combat engagement and engagement points. Any pointers appreciated.

It's better to ask your questions in the AGEOD forum, which is more active:

They are a form of currency used in the game. You basically have money, resources (manpower/horses etc), national morale and Engagement Pts.

Various things require some or all of these. So raising a new infantry division is basically money and manpower. To me, I sort of see EPs as a measure of govt time and attention. So you need to build up capacity before enacting a major reform etc. If you look over the various regional decision options you'll see that some spend one type of currency (say morale and provincial development level) and give you another - manpower or EPs or ... .

This is common across the AGEOD games and managing this sort of conversion is a key to good game play.

You also gain money, manpower/horses and EPs by default - check the tooltips at the top and that will show what you are gaining/spending.
