Mediterranean

I'm just curious, has anyone given any thought to using the WiTPAE engine to model the war in the Mediterranean? The ground combat model is an issue, but it seems like most of the engine would be a good fit for that theatre.

Iirc there was Mediterranean mod for Witp. I don't remember how far advanced.

Warspite1 is really keen for such a mod. Someone once dod some serious work on such a mod, but it never panned out. Far to many variables, as I recall (and my memory ain't worth beans).

Yes!!! There was a Mediterranean mod. It was made by an spanish guy, Fremen. You can find the thread here:

Interesting. I'm not sure how well it panned out in WiTP. The AE engine is night and day really.

afaik, Dili was the last modder who was working on a
mediterranean map for witp-ae...

I was also looking for data on the mediterranean area. Thanks to a message from Fremen I was able to locate what seems to be some old versions of his MED mod here:

Try War in the West by Dali. It's in the scen mods threads. It won't run, but theres a lot of info in the editor and some different art work. Dali put a lot of work into this mod. I think Dili is working on a med mod.

Thanks for the info. I am solely looking for unit/device data and art. Especially for major war participants like italy. So even unfinished mods are welcome to me. The Med mod and War in the west were great sources, but others like the alternate treaty mods, too.

The locations X,Y are defined - i have already all cities and their locations in the database - but there is not a map done yet. Currently i am filling devices for units in OOB.

Sure, keep in mind that the "art" part of the map is not a priority.

It does not work and I've tried with war in the med mod and without it (and obviously nikimod). How do you install it?
