What Games Are You Playing Right Now?

Haven't been doing much of any wargaming lately. I've been hooked on Klei games' Don't Starve and Invisible Inc. Also a game called Planet Base has been appealing to me.

If TOAW IV ever comes out I may give it a go. Also wouldn't mind seeing a Advanced Tactics Platinum or something. But for the time being it's mostly survival type games, or whatever I should call them.

Mainly been playing Battle Academy 2 (working on a review) and Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak. Homeworld: Deserts kinda flew under my radar for a long time but I picked it up in the steam sale and it was well worth the price. Definitely captures the tone of the space games. I plan on moving straight into the Homeworld 1&2 Remastered after finishing it. It's sort of a prequel to the events in those games.

Did anyone else absolutely love the printed manual of the original Homeworld? It was presented as a sort of technical manual and had like a twenty page backstory for the game, which was so interesting that they made a game out of it, Deserts of Kharak.

Carriers At War which I picked up in the recent sale. Also Shadow Warrior 2 and Ultimate General: Civil War which I bought in the recent Steam sale. Of all the games I bought in both the Steam and Matrix sales I have played this one the most though:

It cost me 69p and I've played it for over 10 hours. Very relaxing. [:)]

Stellaris and Distant Worlds. Alternating between the two. An hour on one. An hour on the other.

I recall reading something about Remasters: they remove some gameplay features. Not sure though. I might be mixing it up with another game. Ok, I checked negative reviews on Steam. I recommend you to take a look at that and some let's play videos on YouTube.

Well, I already own them, but I held off on playing for awhile because of said messed up features. They sort of took the worst changes from 1->2 and put them into 1. Even to the point that some ships were completely useless (ex. Refueling ships no longer have a purpose since ships now had unlimited fuel) However, my understanding was that has mostly been sorted out in the last year or so. Now you get the best of each game. Plus it includes the original versions in the purchase, just FYI.

I usually play wargames which portray land warfare, but yesterday I felt like a change and so I fired up CMANO.

I'm not sure I have a favorite. I think DWU is a better game. But Stellaris has its own unique things that makes it interesting, plus over the coming months they will keep adding things, as is the Paradox way. I have played DWU more, so I don't run into any totally unexpected surprises. I haven't played Stellaris as much, so I'm hitting new things. I've just started dealing with Droids and Robots, for example, for the first time. I'm playing DWU with the 1.05 extended release mod. Stellaris I'm playing vanilla with all the current DLCs. I just really like them both.

Hearts of Iron III with the Black ICE Mod.

I'm finally reading "To Lose a Battle: France 1940" by Alistair Horne. It is a great book and put me in the mood of trying to do better [:)]

Strategic Command 3 WW2, SC2 War on Communism, Stardrive 2, the newest Master of Orion (yuch!) and poking at Stellaris. I am all spaced out!
