Shouldn't the Atlantic Wall artillery fire on ships that stop next to them? British ships are able to park next to the guns and attack the adjacent infantry. I should think they should at least provide a defense fire like the normal artillery. It's rather annoying to a ship pull up, do shore bombardment and sail away.

perhaps you should consider them as abstraction, only ships trying to get in close get fired upon, they are not modern radar guided guns but old school... not blocking a straight just sitting waiting for an invasion

I like zos' suggestion of having them perform like artillery in that they will respond if the ships come in close and launch attacks of their own.

Currently I think they fire at Amphib's that move next to them, but I agree with wanting to see them fire at any Naval Unit that moves adjacent.
{Hubert would have to figure out a way to keep computer controlled naval units away from them, unless it is deemed necessary [;)] ].

I no longer use the Atlantic wall artillery, they are terrible, they do no damage, or at least damage I can see, to me the best defence is engineers building fortifications one or two hexes from the channel all along the coast and if you have time for the May 1943 allied invasion build a double line of forts.

They do damage against naval units, one and sometimes even two steps, so they're not that bad, not to forget that they block beach hexes.

It's a pity you can't upgrade artillery tech more than one step, as that would make the Atlantic War artillery more effective

Even the Death Star could be destroyed, and that would always be the fate of any ooncrete wall, may it be the maginot line, or the so called atlantic wall, no matter what anybody would have added, someone would have found a solution to make the wall obsolete.
