I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it was version 3 or thereabouts. Try the search feature in the forum here, because I recall someone saying which version it was.

Hey Das Reich, it was definetly version 3.0, yes that means going through the really large upgrade for 4.0 but its well worth it. My advise is to download
http://www.getright.com/ first, that way you can pause or resume a download if the connection is lost. Its free, easy to use and absolutely nessesary for those long but important downloads. (I should have been a "Getright" spokes person

I had problems with the PCGamer disk, mainly with errors in loading files. I could not tell how bad the errors were, but it made me uneasy using that version.
I would suggest getting the version from Matrix Games. If you are not able to download it, try one of the good samaritans on this message board. That's how I was able to get my copy of the game.

True, Degen has a good point. A number of people reported getting faulty discs from PC Gamer. Some wrote them and got a replacement.
It is version 3.0 on the disc.

I asked the same question on an earlier post and was told "version on front cover on manual" and it was ver 4.1 from Pc Gamer, sucessfully updated to 4.2 and .3b.from Matrix forum.
To Wild Bill: Is it possible that this occurred? An updated disk???
