Windows 10

The problems I have posted in the previous posts have been experienced using 'Windows 10', the initial turns of this scenario were played using a laptop with 'Windows 7', whilst I was away from home, the later turns after I transferred the game saves to the home desktop.

The game has played successfully in 'Windows 10' before and shown no compatibility problems, but I have gone back the the laptop in 'Windows 7' to continue the same game and it is working normally so far.

It defies logic that when a game is up and running, the operating system should be affecting the way the game calculates data.

I will continue the game for an AAR on the 'Windows 7' system, there have been a few small un-commanded unit moves, but nothing drastic. I will post the AAR when I have made some more progress.[:)]

must be a program issue, but why and how is anyone's guess, as while you can work on either, i'd guess you're the first who has swapped files / saves from one to another and noticed it even, as just checked all the forum replies, and not seen anything like it either, so for me and support i'd guess you're the first with it, and for a work around, i'd have no idea either, as why a operating system would have anything to do with a gamesave, eg altering it etc, is anyone's guess, can't say i've heard of it before in any game i've had or heard of either i'm sorry to say.

if both is or are running the same version, the save is done by the game, and the O/S has no input either, so shouldn't make a difference either, but as you say it does,. then there's something else in the mix which has.

so for me, i'd alter the shortcut on the win 10 pc and make it run in win 7 compatibility mode and run it as admin from the shortcut and retry and see how you get on, not that it's needed btw, but for a test and see if doing it, gives the same error or not[&:]

I was surprised if the O/S had anything to do with it, but I have set compatibility for 'Windows 7' and run as Administrator, but when allocating combat supply to a unit in the reinforcing Arrivals list, it happened again, supply readout when to 1000s. No real problem, the AAR game is still running, I just had to re-run a turn, the shame was I didn't get as good results on the re-play.

I am still running 'Time of Fury' and if you can keep that going, then PFE is a walk in the park. [:D]

Thanks for the comments. [8D]

hopefully the developer may look at this and make a comment on what they think it is, as i have no idea why a save should be altered from a transfer from one o/s to another, it's truly baffling one that is for sure

one thing to check, is the start, do the save on the pc you're working on at the time, and before you transfer it, look at the file on the pc and check size and also data, eg open it and screen print the details etc, then transfer it to the other pc and open it in the game, but don't run it or use it, just check the data, and then save the game, open the file and compare the 2 saves, as both should be the same, as no data changed on either, eg not been run or updated, just re saved on the second pc, once the 2 screenshot are compared, and sizes etc, can you see any differences?

OK, thanks I will try a comparison, all is well with the AAR as it is working in 'Windows 7'.[:)]
