Gebirgsjager Company ATGMs and Mortars?

I have found a couple secondary sources which indicate the Gebirgsjager Company had 2 Milans per Company in late 80s. I noticed the scenario editor lacks the milans for the standard Gebirgsjager organizations. There are some AT sections available in the low level area but they lack the actual AT weapons. Is it possible to add in the at weapons either using the scenario editor or some other method?

The sources also indicate a 120mm mortar company per Gebirgsjager Battalion. Those mortars are not included in the standard organization but can be added to a battalion from the low level section.

Unfortunately the sources are not primary sources but it is logical that the Gebirgsjager formations would have some sort of longer ranged ATGM as well as the poor man's artillery, mortars.

Nevermind. I just read the mod 4 documentation. There is the answer.

Yep, then make a new scenario with the new units and check it out. Be sure to follow the instructions on data editing. One misplaced comma can crash your scenario or cause weird problems.

In the West German database, I believe I noticed an error for both the gebirgsjagers and grenadiers platoons listed in both the 84- and 85+ versions of the Jager battalion. All of those platoons list 4 transport units but 5 foot subunits. I assume those platoons will have to move at foot speed because they don't have enough transport to move all their foot units.

It is actually okay. There is a calculation to get the full number of transportable subunits. This was done to cover formations with teams and squads. You can look at Soviet motor rifle units and see more subs than transports to get an idea of the value.

Two subunits for every carrier. One internal capacity and one external - A BMP for example can carry a squad inside, and a squad outside, or either (And Soviet troops prefer the latter)

Stimpak, actually a bit more convoluted then that. External is for towing static items, not riders. Internal is a formula based on the number of carriers.

Formula: Capacity = 3 + number of transports + 1 per 3 additional (1 extra at 3, 4, or 5 transports)

I see. Thanks for clearing that up.

Ok, it works. I created a Gebirgsjager battalion and a standard jager battalion. Both show up on the map with the scenario editor. I haven't actually tried them out in a scenario yet. There are 3 other Jager formation variations: Heavy jager divisional, heavy jager territorial and heimatshutzen Jager. I will add those later.

So if I create a scenario using the new database, I assume the new database has to be included with the scenario. The players simply includes the database in the appropriate country folder. Is it correct that the editor only recognizes a new database named Players-User?

Also I had difficult with the number of milans in a Gebirgsjager battalion. One source gives 18 per battalion and another source gives 9 per battalion. Currently I have gone with 9 but if anyone knows for sure, I can change them.

Also if I put a recce tag on an infantry squad will they get the benefits of a recce unit? I am looking at the recce units for some of these Jager formations and they are typically an infantry platoon with anti-tank weapons moving around in jeep like vehicles. They are capable of fighting but their first mission is recce. My first thoughts are making maybe 3 or 4 squad size infantry each paired with 2-4 of the jeeps. But will they lose the recce capablity if dismounted?
