Link/zone data differs error

Michael or anyone, what could cause this error? I was running a test PBEM and originally we had a version problem - I was playing the beta and my opponent official patch 1124. Fixed that. Also we were having map errors probably because the one I was using had modifications from DaBigBabes games I'd played before. Fixed that. Any idea?

Michael announced a while ago he was not going to be around. Whether he returns is unknown.
I've never seen this error, but my best guess is you have a pwhex file mismatch. If you're in the same install you used for DBB you might want to check that. Or reinstall a clean install in a new sub-folder.

I would go with a clean install. Make sure you save your file to some other location, and zap this one. New install, patch to match Steve, copy your save game back to the new install, open save, click yes when you get the PWX error, run a few changes. Save.
Then follow withqs's advice & run a test setup & send it back & forth to make sure your platform is stable. Once it is, you can proceed to mayhem.

Thanks, guess I'll try and find my disc and start from scratch. Poop.

Make CERTAIN you save your PBEM file, so you don't have to do it over [:-]

But that is the one made with the wrong files. Better to start completely over and not take a chance of starting a game that will have problems in the future.

It was my thought that IF he loaded the saved game into a new load, when he loaded the OLD game he would get the error. That error offers the option to modify to the new PWE file set. Am I missing something? If I am, then you are correct, he will have to start from scratch.
