Now the first patch has been released and the multi player isnt far from been finish. Whats in store for the SC series? Am guessing there will still be a few under the hood tweeks to SC3 but what have the developers got on the drawing board, a ww1 remake? An expansion of SC3? Hopefully any of them could give us a little insite as to what there thinking [:)] or is it too early to be asking that sort of question ha[:'(]

WW1 would be next I guess, the map is already there, and the game system is even better suited to WW1 than WW2.

I do hope there is no world war 1, from my view point, WW2 has the most computer games attached to it of any era in war game history, that does not mean it is a good game done by certain companies, it just means it is WW2. Strategic command is a good decent game of WW2 with a more decent AI then in the past.

I admit I am strictly a WW2 gamer inside and out but that is my preferrence it does not mean other eras of war are not excellent, they are just not for me.

I believe heart and soul that Fury and Matrix should redo the Pacific War from scratch. To me there is so much more involved in the Pacific, the combat thought process is different in many ways. It is a naval war game pure and simple. Not that I want to see a simple game [;)] I would like a game filled with many different decisions to make.

If they, Hubert and Bill attempt this the AI will have to be even better than SC2's AI and the naval aspect will have to be better, the islands will have to have more hexes than before for better combat.

I liked their first attempt at Pacific war, the failure was a very lackluster AI, if this AI plus improvements could be redone it could truly be a great game.

There might be many players like me who might get weary of the constant WW2 games of the drab hard fighting in Russia it is always the same. I guess some players enjoy that kind of fighting and I respect their opinion.

Anyway I would like to see on the table a Pacific game, after this game is brought up to snuff which should not be long, do to the ability of Hubert and Bill.

Bo, believe me: the last SC WW1 game was great. Do yourself a favour and grab SC3 WW1 whenever it may be released. You won't regret it.

With all due respect Xwormwood and you earned that over time [;)] I played the demo some time ago and it just wasn't for me, I like Pacific war games if done right, and I thank you for directing me to the SC game WW1.

I'm in for the PTO too Bo! The first one was pretty good, but the operational scenarios were outstanding, short and sweet two player games, perfect for tournaments.

Spanish Civil War, Russian Civil War, Korean War or Vietnam War would all make great subjects for this game. Perhaps not as seperate games, but as DLC for this.

With all respect, I hope not the Pacific. It was clearly (for me) the weakest of all the SC games.

I agree with Vonik on this subject.. WW1 + WW2 have been played out often... with the AI this game presents a roman era game is a perfect fit. I can feel a Pacific update in the works.. which I would enjoy way too much .... however the Roman era does offer its self up to an tremendous amount of warfare not well covered. a great opportunity here I believe to exploit an overlooked time frame in history.... the napoleon mod(in progress) is a great example of what can be.

Somewhat rosseau, I feel that Hubert was mostly a land operations type of programmer, Europe etc. He delved into an area that he might not have been familiar with, [Pacific theater].

I felt the game was much more dynamic in movements than the European war, more free wheeling I guess is a good term. With a reconstructed map and his new AI from his new SC. game [with naval improvements hopefully] I believe it could become one of his best games.

IMHO a lot more thinking would have to be involved, what islands do I defend, where must I strike to get oil back to Japan, many more tough decisions than in any land war game. I have the game and do not play it any more because of a very weak AI.

So again not to argue with your opinion which is usually right [;)] but a new map and using the new AI would make a very good game. [Hopefully]

I disagree, I think the game engine will have problems with any period before WW1, in which you have small armies fighting in which in the current SC3 map would be just one hex.
