I feel a great disturbance in The Force. I'm not to sanguine about how this one will turn out.

I'm not a big fan of the Mission impossible movies, but the FX should be good. They say they will tell the story. I hope they don't screw it up....GP

As with most Hollywood made war movies, I tend to remain neutral until I see the end product; always a mixed bag from the great like Glory to the bad like Pearl Harbor.

Oh I'm sure they'll do as awesome a job as they did with Pearl Harbor. Jim Carry as the main pilot, pilots flying f-18's over southern California, enemy pilots all look like Donald Trump flying bi-planes.

The original had the female star as a nurse, maybe they will work in this aspect....
"Olga Greenlaw kept the War Diary of the American Volunteer Group--the Flying Tigers--while those gallant mercenaries defended Burma and China from Japanese aggression during the opening months of the Pacific War. Returning to the United States in 1942, she wrote The Lady and the Tigers, which war correspondent Leland Stowe hailed as "an authoritative, gutsy and true to life story of the AVG.""

As a joint production with Alibaba, it will probably be heavy on Chinese talent. It's hard to say how that might affect the plot.

I'm not holding my breath. Hollywood never improves on reality when it comes to war flicks.
And although I like Alibaba (*cough* client *cough*), who knows what influence they will have?
Cheers,
CC

"Captain" Claire Lee Chennault. Last I knew Chennault was a Colonel, this does not bode well for this movie.

That the "News"-paper ranks Chennault a captain while with the AVG doesn't necessarily reflect on those planning to make the movie.
