Taking out AA in England: worth it?

Having a tough time prepping for England: taking out their air support so I can para in is bad enough, but the AA jumps in at every opportunity.

The AA themselves (there's two around London) seem impervious to my current level 1 TACs and Heavies right now too.

Should I screw it? Kind of worried about the paras getting mauled. Also, there's not a ton of space to invade as-is.

You won't have to parachute to get there. England(AI) will put a ship in every hex between themselves
and the continent of Europe. You can just walk across on the ships.. good luck.

I'm currently invading the UK in a test game for PBEM and landed at Portsmouth, which gave me a port, so I'd suggest aiming for the same location if possible.

Alternatively you could try to take Plymouth but that would require deploying your air support further west.

Ah, right, and if you take a port obviously you won't need any more Amphibious Transports.

Ok. Let me try that.

You realize that if you run enough tactical and medium bomber raids, followed by fighter sweeps - that there will be no interceptions left on the British fighters. Run all your air ops, then deploy your Paras into a much friendlier air space.

Yeah, I guess you're right; I was thinking of follow-up turns and providing air support to cut-off units. Haven't attempted a UK assault yet, so maybe that's not as necessary as I thought.
