How does one put fuel into a TK or AO that starts in a TF on Dec 7, 1941?

Want to place an AO down with the Pacific Scouting Force and cannot figure out how to load it with fuel.

If I am not mistaken, tankers and merchies at sea are being loaded automatically upon scenario start. But the freight carried seems to be random - when I restart a scenario, the same ship sometimes is loaded with supplies, sometimes with resources. Not sure about AOs - the KB oilers always carry fuel, maybe it's hardcoded.

Tankers can not be loaded on the first turn unless docked and you hit load fuel. But as the Allied player, you can not create NEW TFs so this is not possible. As for AOs, if they are in port at the start of the game and the port has fuel, you can "load tenders" and fuel will be loaded as per the capability of the port (at least I THINK this can happen on turn one, never tried it). But you can't create a NEW TF as per the rules, so only loading tenders will work and the AOs would remain in that port.

I am working in the Editor for one of my Mods and am trying to figure it out for a Dec 7th start.

No. You may be right for Port. I wonder if I put fuel at that port would that AO load it automatically?

No I believe you would still have to hit "load tender". As for creating a loaded AO in a port at the start through the editor, that I don't have a clue. Sorry.

As LST says, a normal cargo TF will be subject to random cargo amounts and types.

Needs to be in a ‘replenishment’ TF to be sure it loads fuel. Put your AO(s) in it. Check first turn movement bonus. Set X and Y to where you want the TF to be (same as PSF). Give it the same destination and homeport as PSF TF.

[ed] note, TK don't go in a replenishment TF, only AO or AE. If you try a tanker TF (or cargo or transport) you run the risk of hauling oil and not fuel.

Place the AO(s) at Pago Pago with their escorts in Replenishment TF. Add the amount of fuel you want them to have to Pago Pago's at start values. The Allied player can then load them up on T1.

Will give this a serious try. Figure that the Americans should at least have ONE AO down there since the entire Scouting Force is present!
