OBA effect visibility issue

Hi

Maybe I am missing something but when OBA starts, if on a large map, we get stuck in the part of the map we were playing and the shelling maybe not visible at all.

In other words, why does not the map autocenter on the hexes that are being shelled by OBA (friendly or enemy) ?

Man, that's normal for TotH. I believe it has something to do with the amount of processing required but that still doesn't seem like the only thing. I know it's annoying but OBA isn't used much anyways nor very effective when you were lucky enough to get it. Not a complaint against the game but a fact of simulation. But you know, I've gotten lucky a time or two when it mattered with OBA, just never rely on it!

Thanks for your answer.

But the issue is not the unreliability of the response and accuracy of OBA - I understand that - is the fact that the map gets stuck, unmovable, while shelling occurs and unless you happen to be looking at the area that is going to be hit before action starts, you are left with an immobile screen and really do not know what is happening for a long time (you only get feedback about hex coordenates being hit, not very helpful...)

In other segments of the game the map centers on the action (ex: enemy units routs phase, etc). Why not here ?

Unless the map is centering on the radio unit that ordered the attack ?? [&:]

Fransiscus are you running the latest Update (1.0.56)? Peter did some work on this for an Update but if it is still there sometimes we will add it to the list of Bugs.

If you use Sound FX you should hear the sound of OBA falling. At least you would know whats happening.

Hi, Paullus, thank you for the answer.

Yes, I am using 1.0.56

I can hear the sound of the shelling alright, and read the messages about the hex coordinates being hit, but in a large map that is not really enough...

Thanks Franciscus. I'll run it by Peter.
