If I have PBEM games running in an older version can I dump the SC Directory in an dummy directory run the executable on that and upgrade my existing game on the same PC?

Effectively having two versions, .4 and the latest?

Tested the possibility, so far it seems possible without issue to run the .4Beta and the recent 1.03 edition individually on the same computer. Allowing one to start new PBEMs and continue old ones and I hope this remains true for all future updates. I will keep people updated if I run into any bugs.

(Just make sure to drop a full directory of your copy of Strategic Command in another place than where the updater will go, effectively having two installed versions of the same game on the same PC, this is very nice for keeping old games going)

Hi,

If I already updated my initial install to 1.03. Is it still possible to have a second install that runs .4Beta ? If yes, how would I go about doing that ?

Johanssb, you would have to likely uninstall the game first. Reinstall the base game, then add the .4 beta if you have that in your downloaded files. Then copy and paste that Strategic Command Full Sub Directory(do you know where to find it in System Files?) out onto say the desktop to preserve the 4beta...

then what's left could be upgraded. To run it you would run the executable from within the directory on the desktop.

Make sense?
