OK, in my latest Global War game the Axis has conquered the USSR. Can Germany now send Oil resources to Japan via the Trans-Siberian railway? To Vladivostock, then via Convoys to Japan?

But considering any that are only needed for re-org, why bother getting them to Japan? Just get them to a Japanese controlled hex.

Right! Should have thought of that. I guess Vladivostock can take several each turn, maybe one or two of the smaller USSR cities Japan occupied, or even Manchurian cities.

Why are they only needed for reorg? I mean, Japan usually is short of resources, even more when it's late war, when it can get critical. [&:]

And, to address the question, they can send oil resources and non-oil as well using that route, there are limitations on how many resources can get to or from a certain level port and the limitations or iced ports, not crossing sea areas twice or more times, etc ...

And of course you need to make a trade agreement first.

It is so cool that this global game has a global following! Also that contributors to the original game as well as the PC version included folks from a variety of nations!

If you happen to come to the Madrid area I'll be happy to meet. No more trips programmed to USA for some time. I was to USA for the fourth time a couple of years ago, and that time I was separated from the rest of the passengers and held in a room for like 20 or 30 minutes, I guess "to sweat", since I seemed to be a person not neutral enough to get a normal entry but not unwelcome enough to send me back to Spain, especially since I got an approved visa for USA.[:D]

I have seen NY two times (the second because of my wife, I don't like it), Miami and Chicago, I had pendant a possible trip to the L.A. area, but I don't want to tempt my luck. [:-]

Thanks, I'll be in touch once my trip to France is firmed up. I met my friend from Marseilles years ago in DC when he arrived at a venue where I ran miniatures games. He's a pilot with Air France, but he recently was promoted to captain and no longer flies outside of Europe.
I lived in NYC for a short while, and it is an exciting place to visit but a nasty place to live unless you are wealthy.
Sorry you had trouble with US Customs. Things have gotten much more tense since 9/11 and I'm sure a lot of good people have been inconvenienced. But I guess we all have changed a bit during this new kind of war.

A friend of mine had a company both in the Netherlands and the US, employing quite some people in Boston. Last year he closed down the US business site (about 50 people lost their jobs) and reopened it in Montreal, because he was really fed up with all the nonsense from US customs...

You might want to see if you can meet up with Patrice (Forno). When I visited Provence several years ago, my wife and I met him and his family. He did a ton of work on the MWIF map and added the name of the city where he lives to the map (zoom level 8, near Marseilles).

Since we will be in Marseilles visiting with my pilot friend I will definitely do that! I would be more than happy to take him out to dinner (with Patrick along as a translator!) Someone that worked so hard on my most addicted game certainly deserves some kind of "thank you" from me!
