Almost forgot to post this, finish putting this together almost two weeks ago. Took me around two weeks to do it and it is almost 30 inches long.

I have a 1/200 scale model of the Yamato from the 1960s that I rescued from a charity shop, it's radio control compatible...... Might just take another look at it and finally get her built. [:)]

Thank guys, I did take my time and trim the edge. Hardest parts is putting tiny pieces together, I mean tiny and a lot of them. Not mention have to paint up tight places too or hard to get to. Only part I spray paint is the hull, they rest is by hand.

Yeah when I got her out of the box, she was huge. After putting piece by piece it was coming alive. Havent put anything together this big before, but interesting hobby though.

One thing for sure, if you don't keep this model out of the dust areas, it will get ugly and ruin. Best to keep it in dust free enclosure.

Do you have photos of her? Been looking for a carrier that is 1/350, but they aren't cheap at all. More than doubled what I paid for the Yamato.

I should try and get some pictures. I always seemed to end up with the sister ships. I have a nice Tirpitz but not the Bismarck in 1/350 as well.

My boyfriend loves looking at them.

My 700th scale fleet is more numerous.

I had a Yamato, a Tirpitz and a USS Forrestal carrier in my model collection in my teens. I'm pretty sure they were Testors or Revell?.
They were never painted very well as I was only 15 or so, and no pictures remain but I always preferred ship models over tanks or cars.

I kinda did the same thing when I was a kid, but I was good at painting it though. I remember seeing a warship at this wine place and it had USS Jimmy on it lol. It was an Iowa Class Battleship, probable around 540 scale and a messy paint job.
