Impossibly big?

I was wondering, now that some of you have been playing on a BIG map, some 40.000 hexes (well less, but up there) if that sort of size would turn people off, from playing a scenario. I have actually made a map, that is ... umm... bigger... and it took enormous time, so I don't want to see it go to waste, but is the project wasted, or do people want to play maps of this size?
Oh, and I have tested it. To see if the map would be supported by the Memory available for ATG, or if the scrollspeed would suffer, none of those have beeen a problem. What has been a slight problem is that the time before you can start a turn is about 3 minuttes for bigger regimes, and 30 seconds for smaller ones. This time would most likely come at the end of the turn, for most people. It might be caused by autosave being enabled too.
