It either tells me I have insufficient priviledges to run the game, that I should quit and re-run it as an Administrator (which I am doing!)
Actuallyt his seems to happen with a lot of AGeod games these days, it started doing this consistently after Christmas and I don't know why.
It can't be my PC aas it now happens on both of them.

The other problem is more serious it just keeps on terminiating saying there is a 'serious fatal error' and says there is a bug/tec report, but not where it is!

5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. Attach the file to your message
7, if your new and can't / don't have permission etc, then copy paste into a reply

add the exe of the game to your Anti Virus and firewall program, to make sure check the logs of these to see if it was one if any of them was to blame.

That usually means a 3rd party program, like an Internet security programs, is or could be interfering with the game or update installation.

install and run the game from a admin account and use full admin permissions.

please make sure all game pre requisite are installed with the game, even if you think or fully know there are already installed, it will only over write, and it may be that you have a older or newer version of these where as the game in question may need a certain version.

please make sure you are running the latest game version and have up to date drivers installed on your pc,

This 'permission' problem is very annoying, I play most but not all of my games through Steam (not ECW yet!) and only since the start of this year is it keep on telling me to run it as an Adminstrator. However I am the only user on both my PC's (have a new one Windows 10 and an older one Windows 7) and the 'permission' fault now happens regularly on both.

imo your cpu is on the low side, the video card isn't a mainstream gaming one, but a mobile workstation graphics solution only, and is low in memory, the problem how i see it, while it may meet the minimum requirements, maybe, it has a low powered cpu and a low powered and low memory adapter, with just enough system memory to run windows for a 64bit solution, maybe disabling some start up apps and programs may give you better performance, but apart from that, there's not a lot to suggest other than add some more memory may help, but maybe not also, it's hard to tell without error codes and your report didn't have any so it's guess work atm

Getting same CTD with "Administrator" message. Usually on second or third move of the game when I try to use the Strategic Atlas. If these bugs can be sorted I think there is a good game in thee.

Yeah I can't run the game on my new PC (Windows 10) as it gives me nothing but 'need Adminstrator privledges' every 2nd or 3rd turn. Same with any Ageod game I try to run on it through steam, too.
At least on my old PC, even if it is a bit old or slow, I can usually run it for about 5 or 6 moves before telling me it needs the privledges, or else just freezing.

BTW 'need Administator Priveldges' is a growing problem, lot so fpeople are now complaining about it on Steam since the start of this year, but it's not just a steam problem as it happens on this game which I'm not running through Steam, although not so often.

i've just tested the game on windows 10, latest version, clean install, not a upgrade etc Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 15063) (15063.rs2_release.170317-1834)

once it has downloaded and i also grabbed the update 1.01

i right clicked on the main setup and ran the install as admin and installed to the default location, then once asked i entered the serial and at the end also installed drx 9 as asked and prompted, then did the same on the update, once finished i ran the desktop shortcut again as admin from my admin only account, nothing special added or needed, worked out of the box for me, seems there's something else maybe different, i use the default AV which come with windows, and like i said, have the only one account, made by myself at windows prompt with full administrator privileges when windows was installed.

what anti virus do you use? anything different also as a firewall?

I'm wondering if this is a Windows 10 related issue as I'm trying to run it on a new laptop which I only got this week, so a very clean system. No built-up dross. Mckaffe AV

If I get chance over the weekend, I'll try reinstalling on an older laptop. Windows 7, AVG AV, and see how it goes there.

I use MacAfee on the new Windows 10 PC, and Kaspersky on the old Windows 7, Zakblood.
I've not had this problem re 'administrator privelidges' before the start of this year, and lots of other Ageod Players have also started encountering it in recent months.

If it is an anti-virus or a firewall problem then it must be down to a recent update or patch to the main software as there never used to be a problem.

easy way is checking the logs of both, and if it's in there, then add the game exe or folder or both to the safelist and problem solved

Looks like it very well could be Windows 10 or MacAfee related. I have done the reinstall on Windows 7 with AVG Av, and now through to Turn 5 with no problems so far. On Windows 10 I never got beyond Turn 3

i'd guess more of a AV issue than a pure windows 10 issue tbh, but glad your sorted, now on the windows 10 one, just add the folder to the safelist and you should be fine, seems most poor AV programs stick there nose into something you don't want to at times

Just had another mega-crash, it wasn't due to priveldges though.
It did point me towards the Main Log in ECW Logs via My Documents, but the thing is far too big to open with word or note pad (it's a 1.1 Gig big so I can't even put it here!)

yes that's something the developer will need to comment on here, as once logging is enabled, the logs imo get to silly sizes rather quickly, i've just set the saves for 3 and let them over write for now, and turned logging off and played without it, as i also can't send file that big either anywhere

Why is it I get the feeling we are play-testing this game as a Beta version for the developers?
