Yes, I was thinking the same thing, there have been a lot of Hollywood props made for period films in the past (and present).

Well I wouldn't mind having a Japanese Samurai Sword that was from an officer back in WWII. I am sure there a lot of stuffs out there people would like to have as a collection. But most of them aren't cheap though.

Very nice Halsey, yeah that sword look interesting. I haven't been looking, but I be surprise they are expensive. Wanted to get a Japanese WWII aircraft carrier that is 1/350 scale and it cost almost three times more than I gave for the Yamato.

When you start looking, you can find modestly priced Japanese Arsenal marked blades on Ebay.
$700-$1200. They aren't considered valuable, so they are more easily obtained.
Mostly from veterans brought back after WWII.
The only desirable Arsenal marked blades have a Star stamp on the tang, they will run a little more.

Nice collection Halsey, thanks for sharing! Do you happen to have any Third Reich political items like the rare NSDAP Golden Party Badge...I used to collect military/political insignia years ago.

Yeah, original in a safe and this is the one they place in the painting. The Luftwaffe pilots and other wartime soldiers did a lot of signings during the war, that's what I have been told. I have a few of Gunther Rall, Adolf Galland, and Erich Hartmann. Also, Otto Weidinger of Das Reich. However, I have stopped buying.

About twenty years ago my Mom presented me with a "box" that had German writing on it. A WW2 vet from church had died and his family was selling off stuff. The box was really cool, an ammunition crate for 2 88mm shells. But the gut punch was when Mom described the "machine gun" that had been in the box and was sold to someone else. Mom said she didnt think it was legal to own something like that. Given the size of the crate it could only have been an MP-40!
