Just wondering- under what case would there be a DOW on Switzerland? It can't be aligned (only liberated presumably) and it's factories can't be used if conquered...?

I can't think of a case and I have never, ever seen it happen. It is a waste of time and resources for the Axis.

On two different situations I've seen desperate German players DOW Switzerland when they have been stuck in France. Both times this DOW on Switzerland only strengthened the French position even further.

Indeed. The Swiss factories can not be used by the conqueror.

Thanks! Yeah I think Germany would have to be pretty desperate to get access through Switzerland to do a DOW.

There is no scenario where GE doesn't regret a DoW on Switzerland in 45. Besides .. there is is probably no scenario where it really helps in 39/40 either.. just take the lows to get he the same amount of hexes while denying CW shore-fortified coastal-flanks.
