I cannot open password related games. Following is part of my conversation with Falco about the problem.

"You seem to be right...I tried to load an earlier game turn that I have already played and it would not load. Maybe still be game related (ATG not scenario). I also tried to load earlier password related game turns from my other ATG games and they would not load. Seems to be related to password as non-password related saved games load okay. I tried to load a game with the wrong password and I got the message that the password was not correct.

My other games (not ATG) continue to load okay. Need help badly. I have version 226b of ATG. Wonder if Vic could help."

Got it. Am I the only one having problems opening password related games??

I tried after GD1938 Game19 was ended, just to see if I could and was not able to. I figured it was just a normal feature of pbem. My own saved games load fine too.

What versions are you running, and what version was the last save in?

Since I cannot open any password controlled saves I have no way of knowing what version the saves were....I have version 226b of ATG. It happens in several versions of GD and Triumph of the Reich so I don't think that is the problem...interesting that it just started as I opened the passworded saves several times before.

Well...I was able to open a saved pbem turn from several turns ago.

There is no reason that any turn could not be opened again. It has happened many times when a turn must be re-started.

Larry, has -anything- changed about your machine that you can think of?

Bombur - did you have any luck opening the file on your machine?

Bombur opened my game with my password and sent me a copy. I could play the turn but not continue it...got unhandled exception message. Fortunately I saved it just before I "continued" it. SO it is saved as USSR turn but not as Spain turn. EDIT:::Tried several times to "end turn and continue" but got same message. :::EDIT
Now I am thoughly confused...what is going on with my computer?? Maybe a file got corrupted...the file that handles password PBEM games when they are loaded or continued????? Been having electrical problems maybe something got corrupted. Hope I don't have to reinstall as the disk I got is a very early version.

As far as things being changed that seems to happen all the time without me being told about it....gee I hate Windows 10. I also think I got a virus upgrade program
from AVG. My computer self restarted without any input from me last week or so. I ran virus program and it says no problems were detected.

Could i get an exact description what happens...

like.
1. load saved game
2. input my password
3. popup says password is incorrect

Easy this is what happens when I try to load a any password related scenario game turn.
1 Load saved game.
2. Enter the password correctly (when I don't it says wrong password).
3. NOTHING happens. Busy icon shows up but it never does anything else.

Ian Murray opened my password related game turn and sent me a copy. I played the turn and hit the end turn button. This is what happened. I could save the game as Testone. Reload and play and save as often as I wanted but no end turn.

And this is what happens when I hit the end turn button.
1. Hit end turn button.
2. Get unhandled exception message. I would attach the save game but I'm not sure how.

I was thinking of doing a new install but I don't have an install file for the entire game just updates.

UPDATE::

I did a complete install of the game--copied the scenario files that related to the games I am playing and updated to version 226b. Now my password works and I can end game like normal.

Matrix reacted very quickly to my email. I had access to the install file the next day (it was version 200). I updated manually since the update program did not work--although that may have been my impatiences.
