Port Supply

I am in the summer of 42, i have just punched through the soviet lines along the don and have encircled a large portion in Rostov, or pushed them against the coast of the taganrog bay. The russians still hold the Crimea, but the only port that is still in russian hands in the pocket is the port of Azov itself. My question is, will the men inside the pocket be in supply or not? In other words are they encircled (going to surrender) or are they going to fight on with supplies etc. If you need a photo i can try and provide one.

I learned thru various campaigns as the Russians that any surrounded port where the Russians control the seas to another Russian port will be supplied. Rostov will no longer be supplied when svestapol falls. On Azov ports, once you control the strait between the Crimea and Caucasus there is no more supply. always be aware of amphibious assaults against uncontrolled Russian hexes. One of my favorite last ditch efforts to stymie any German assault in the crimes is to launch amphibious assaults black sea coastline behind Germans. The key to cutting of the Azov sea is the strait. I'm available. If you'd ever like to play a game. longbow584@gmail.com

Port supply is one of the most overlooked things in the supply network. You can supply an inmense number of units via small ports. In a MP game I had 50 divisions cut in a pocket around Stalino. I had just one small port, I thought next turn most of my units would be in red or yellow but they were still perfectly supplied. Absurd.

I know it's bad that ports have unlimited throughput (just like rail lines), but haven't been able to find an easy solution to fix this [:(]

Especially without braking smaller scenarios like those with Kurland pocket.

One option could be to have units in such a situation counted as in beachhead supply with supply deliveries triggered by port city limited by port size (adjusted by damage).
A port city with undamaged level 1 port and connected to other friendly in-supply port may receive something in the ballpark of 2500 supplies and 500 fuel. HQs or units may only select supply sources within the beachhead area.

But I know it's easy to write such a suggestion but likely hard to implement programming-wise
