Introductory Guide on Steam

Hello all! Last week I started work on an introductory guide to CMANO on the Steam Community. I've just posted it, and wanted to share it on here.

My intention with this Guide was not to provide a walkthrough on specifically how to play, but rather to provide a sort of a bridge between the product page and the tutorials, and to help people more fully understand what It is they are getting into.

Feedback of all kinds would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a link http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... 1081327870

I have also attached a PDF of the text of this guide, which has graciously been edited and proofread by 'thewood1', with a few revisions of my own to his work.

Thanks for doing that. I like the way the scenario types have been explained and you tackle any expectation re: WW2 well.

really good - clearly a substantial effort!
You will probably not get the hang of this in one sitting. You will make mistakes. You will lose battles. Your ships will sink. Your planes will be shot down. Your missile and airstrikes will fail.

sage advice...

The forum ate my longer response - but I just wanted to say that this is fantastic work, written very clearly and concisely, with easy answers to all the common questions and points of confusion. I hope it helps get more players into CMANO [:)]

Any chance of making this guide downloadable?

While not perfect, you can copy-paste-format (to your hearts content)-and print the info that is provided on Steam. In fact, I did that and added the pages to my growing Command 3-ring binder. Anyone remember those binders from the 80s and 90s? Oh how retro can a wargamer get?

I've got a CMANO 3 Ring binder manual myself, as my guide says [:D] and with it being a little on the thinner side, it is almost at capacity!

It is a good way of keeping the original manual and all the addendum together, and I am very happy that you think it is worthy of inclusion in your manual, as you are much more of a veteran player than I am!

I am about to attach a PDF version of my Introductory Guide in the OP, copied, edited and spellchecked by 'thewood1' with some additional revisions by myself.
