Been noticing something more and more around here

I guess I have just been around a long time.
But it seems more and more, that a lot of names of posters, seem to always seem like new faces.
Now that is not a bad thing. But the names of posters that have been here as long as me seems to be getting smaller.
I wonder what our member retention rate is?
How many are we getting that stay?

Well, as I've been here longer than You Les..
The most obvious change is not the usernames, but the nature of topics. IMO. When SPWaW came out it was nothing unusual to get couple pages worth of new topics daily! And those topics were mostly of type 'How do I.../ What is.../ Why..' categories.
Now many new topics are either what I see as nitpicking or rather uninteresting threads that'd fit into (f)art of wargaming forum but somehow aren't there....
So, back in early days lots of new people came in with lots of questions. And quite a few of those people remain. I think the current crop of newbies joins the forums mainly to ask a specific question or two and when they get an answer, leave.
If SPWaW would be once again a main item on a 'free' CD that many computer magazines have, then we'd see a sudden influx of newbies and then it'd be up to us whether they stay or not.
These are my thoughts only, any coincidence with reality is accidental

Yes you might have a point.
Matrix needs to move some of those "in developement" titles to get something happening.

I still scan the posts here at Matrix but I've been spending a lot of time on the Blitz site also, they have a nice ladder system set up that you can advance on which to me make's it a little more rewarding playing there. Their message board isn't as extensive as here but it works. I remember when the Matrix site had a few league's going, that was a lot of fun but I understand that they don't have the time now to run them now.

What can they do?
They shouldn't release a bad or under-developed game and thereby risk destroying their reputation for fine games....
So far they have had 2 duds and 1 successful and 1 moderately successful game released...

Hmm what were those two duds and one moderately successful man, or I will have to delete your reply for not being given in the form of a question eh.

I still come here at least once a day, but there is not much in the way of new topics of discussion lately.
A lot of "been here, read that".
I don't Gasp! even have SPWaW loaded on my current machine yet, but still check out the Training and main SPWaW forums in case anything new and enlightening shows up.

Based on what I've read so far, that's not a terribly inaccurate description.
I've been on the Matrix forum for a couple years now, but only in one area until recently. I finally decided I should check out some of the other areas.

Have you guys seen the new look of Wargamer? and as a result the merging defacto of Military Gamer Online Forums.
Wargamer has a bit better forum look now visually. And it's getting a bit more active as a result.
Looking like a real good cross mix option for Matrix/Military gamer/Wargamer fans.
