BTS 3.2 Art Help

Starting a BTS 3.2 game with extended map/stacking limits but having some difficulty with the art files. I'm sure I'm missing an obvious step but I have downloaded both the community art package from the RA page and the art file on the BTS file. I'm uncertain how/where to unpackage the various files. I have tried a couple of times and get weird graphical glitches and the appropriate ship art doesn't appear where it needs to - example the picture of the CVL Charlotte doesn't appear. Please assist if you have any experience here.
