I tried to play WITP-AE Edition and the game locks up computer. Have deleted games and all files and re-installed the game from the CD. Updated game and I get same results. All other Matrix Games work fine. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 620 with Windows 7 Profeesional. Thanks

Show us your path from your shortcut. Here is mine:

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -fd -altFont -px1920 -py1080 -archive -cpu1 -dd_sw -deepColor -skipVideo

Also tell what your hard drive free space, computer memory and video card specs are. The game loads a lot of data once you start setting up a turn and uses a lot of video memory to handle all the graphics filters you can apply (range circles, weather, etc.).

Are Command line switches needed for Windows 7?


Check your Event Viewer and look for events that happened at that time

I am using an Inspiron 620 intel core i5-23 20 processor with 6mb cache. Available HD space is 302 GB. Computer memory is 8.00GB. It has an AMD Radian HD 6450 video card. Also I am not sure how to check the shortcut specs. Hope this helps. I am going to try and install the game on wife computer. Also I had Geek Squad check out my computer last night and after they got done it worked fine.

Make sure you have updated graphic drivers for your computer:

Make sure you update your Direct X to the most current version

What else is running that might conflict? Dynamic screensaver? Check your Event Viewer.
