Ledo Road

Why no Ledo/Stilwell Road ?
In my game, there are no more japs in northern Burma (end of 42), but I have to bring in my stuff thru Rangoon - and my shipping lanes aren't safe. Wouldn't some road connection between India and northern Burma (from Ledo to Myitkynia) help the flow of supplies ?

I was thinking the same. Probably too easy for the allies at the time....

The Ledo road wasn't completed, and the first relief convoy delivered, until January 1945. Because of this, it is not modeled in the game.
Same with the 'Bridge over the river Kwai' and the Japanese railway connecting Burma to Siam ("The railway of death"). It was completed in October 1943, but is not modeled in the game.

I am rather talking about the very first section to Myitkynia (Burma), which was operable much earlier.

Work on the Ledo road started only in Dec 1942.

15.8 BURMA ROAD
For the Allies, if a rail/road/trail path free of Japanese units between Tsuyung and Ledo or
between Tsuyung and Rangoon can be traced, than [sic] each day, 500 supply points per turn are
added to Tsuyung.

I know it say '...between Tsuyung and Ledo..' but there is no rail/road/trail path between them so this is incorrect.

look at the bases, it says "Burma road open" when the road is open.It is not depending on a railroad, it just depends on the free path, then you get it automatically.

I know. But I was rather talking about the 3 hex space between Ledo and Warazup and not about the whole Ledo Road or any other route to China. I wanted my boys in BURMA resupplied and NOT THE CHINESE. And if I look at the map, part of that first leg of the Ledo road into Burma (Warazup-Myitkynia) seems already to be completed (see picture).

And once completed, the Ledo Rd. only managed to carry a small percentage of the supplies that made it to China. It probably should not have been built but at the time, it made sense to try. It did help to shorten the flight to China but most supply still had to fly in.

Yes, most stuff that went to China was air lifted. But again, sort of a what if, I am talking about Burma. Not China.

The Burma Rd rule only goes for supply to China. To supply Burma you have two ways; 1. Overland from Akyab, and /or airlift from India. I've used both with good success. I use CS convoys to load up Akyab and set Akyab to a local requirement of 5K. Then anything over 15k moves into burma where your bases are set to 5 to 7k. It is best to max out port construction at Akyab. And put naval support there....GP

I never said it was, it says and I said rail/road/trail. There is none, ziltch, zip between Ledo and anywhere other than India, It might well say the Burma road is open but just occupying Ledo won't or shouldn't open it.

My bad. There is no Ledo Road portion of the Burma Road:

Can somebody clarify for me how the burma road works please?
According the the manual:
For the Allies, if a rail/road/trail path free of Japanese units between Tsuyung and Ledo or
between Tsuyung and Rangoon can be traced, than each day, 500 supply points per turn are
added to Tsuyung.
Looking at the map though, there *is* no road/rail/trail connection btween tsuyung and Ledo (as far as I can tell burma has no overland connection to india at all).
So how does this work? Equally importantly, how can I tell if its working?
The reference to Ledo should be removed, as there is no "Ledo Road" in AE.

It has been a long time but dwbradley made a switching utility that added roads/rails it included the Ledo road IIRC.
