As Soviets my infantry is being decimated rather easily by German Armour and they seem invincable. Its end of 42 and my inf is level 2 German armour is level 4. Ive invest in AT research but that appears to have done nothing other than to improve my AT Guns. How do you deal with German Armour or is 1942 abit of a lost cause as ive suffered terribley and with 1943 around the corner do things improve

The only counter are Anti Tank Units. But there are maybe to few available.

AFAIK AT research doesn't help tankd, only AT guns, unlike a anti-aircraft, which almost all (maybe all of them?) land units, as well as dedicated AA units, which is a little odd, though improving other land techs helps

Panzers are tanks, using their tank attack value, therefor IW will increase the tank defense for infantry.

Titan, make sure you get your infantry into entrenched positions, meaning no movement for at least two turns.

Select terrain that offers greatest entrenchment values in the way of the German avenue of advance.

Infantry in cities and forest hexes. Use your tanks in the open. Hit them with air. Try to lure them forward so they are short of supply and then concentrate on one unit at a time.
