I bought my copy on steam. I played a while and told steam to stop telling me the serial number. Now I want to register the game at your site. When I press Shift Tab nothing happens. I have checked properties on steam and shift tab is supposed to work. How do I fix this?

I'm sorry but you can't register the copy of your game in your Slitherine/Matrix account.
Steam doesn't allow 3rd party keys, so if you want to register a game in the Slitherine/Matrix account and at the same time register in Steam, then you have to purchase the game from our store.

Does this effect multiplayer /PBEM games?

PBEM++ is unaffected as once you launch the game in Steam and attempt to play PBEM++ it should then ask you to create a Matrix username and password for access to the PBEM++ server. But since you are already posting here on the forums, your forum username and password should do the trick for the PBEM++ server as well.
