With the 2.00 UPDATE handed out to Matrix Slitherine for mastering it into a public UPDATE (free to y'all owning the game), it is time to have some fun playing the game for a change. I mean, really playing, like a game of chess, considering your moves, instead of just quickly burning through scenarios like what we did during our QA testing.

Here goes! Looks easy peasy for my Israelis, right!

[*] High Water Mark DAR at Grogheads

Note that you need to be logged into Grogheads forum to see the screenshots.

And Berto: no peeking!

Israeli Turn #2 now available at Grogheads

[*] High Water Mark DAR

Barak Armored Bn and 71st Armored Bn have now entered the map. Next turn, my infantry, the little I have, will enter the fray as well.

This will get very brutal very soon...

How would assaulting an Anti-Tank Gun strongpoint with a tank company work out?

Israeli Turn #4 now available at Grogheads!

How would assaulting an Anti-Tank Gun strongpoint with a tank company work out?

Answer: Not well.

Next question: Who's hiding on those empty looking positions, as a Recce Platoon would observe, with the new Dynamic Recon rule in place?

To find out, visit Israeli Turn #4 at Grogheads, HERE.

Israeli Turn #6 - Moving Forward, At Last!, says my During Action Report at Grogheads.

So indeed, while still busy neutralizing Tel Shams heights to best of my ability, my point Coys from Barak Armored open at long range towards Saasa Ridge.

There was a ton of action before that though, get all the details HERE

Israeli Turn #7 - Situation Normal, says my latest During Action Report at Grogheads.

Situation Normal indeed, first Berto's lĂșcky artillery mission takes out a full Engineer Platoon, then my Airstrike performs an immaculate blue-on-blue mission on my Pattons. "Red Leader, two hostiles down. I repeat: two hostiles down". Well they are hostile to you airboys now!

Here's a screenshot from a happier time. The single T-55 I saw so far, a burning wreck here. But there were more...

Israeli Turn #9 - Mopping Up Tel Shams

After taking a proper beating from the Syrian artillery - again! - it is time to tie the noose around the remaining Syrian units. The T-55 Coy bought time for a lot of units to retreat off map though, as instead of having been able to leave a few tankers with enough APs for Opportunity Fire, all my units exhausted their firing missions the previous turn.

Yet, those Syrian foot units in the reverse slope are (finally) doomed...

Again, read all the details at Grogheads AAR forum!

Israeli Turn #10 - Into Phase 2 (or what is left of it anyway)

I had a special treat for those pesky Syrian Artillery units this turn... I had set all my three 155mm batteries on Counter Battery missions. Firing for effect... Shot! Splash in 10 seconds...

And all I bagged was one lousy MRL truck. But it is a start!

Israeli Turn #11 - Damascus Here We Come

With Tel Shams height secured, time to form up and move up again!

Not much this turn, but note the Rough terrain immediately in front of me has now been negotiated for most part, leaving a clear route of advance for my three remaining turns!

Read all about turn 12 at my entry in the Grogheads AAR forum!

Again, you need to be registered there to see the images, but that is how it works there...

Israeli Turn #13 - Come Out And Play!

To be honest, not much happened here. Not my fault.

Syrians are a-Hiding, Israelis are a-Striding! I-D-F! I-D-F!

Hopefully that annoyed the Syrians as much it annoyed you guys reading it? Gotta hurt them somehow [8|]

Here's the Israeli positions end of play IDF phase turn 13. A click closer to their targets!

And here's my latest entry at the Grogheads. Come out and Play!

Israeli Turn #14 - The Tide Is High (But I'm Moving On)

Syrians are obviously playing the percentage game here, content to observe the approaching wall of IDF steel safe in a knowledge that the armistice negotiations are well on their way, and soon the enemy will receive an order for a full stop. Can't blame them, really.

Regardless, I am to fulfill my original orders to a point, trying to take the High Water Mark as far out as possible. (The road to) Damascus is clearly out of my reach, so I will be content to reach the plateau in front of me, and to have town of Saasa threatened by a direct fire from my tankers.

One more friendly phase, two more hostile phases. Let us see if the Syrian armor decides to show up after all, I spotted several Syrian tank troops on their way from Saasa Ridge towards Saasa proper!

Here's my latest entry at the Grogheads. Note you need to be logged in there to see the screenshots.

And, here's the situation at the end-of-play Israeli Phase, Turn #14. So close!

Israeli Turn #15 - High Water Mark, Reached

And so it played, the final IDF phase for the push towards Damascus. It was not going to be that, or even a Minor Victory either, but instead a lesson of what-could-have-been, if the IDF Tank Bde would have stepped on it, instead of allowing themselves got stuck clearing the Tel Shams height.

There's still the Syrian final phase coming though, the Fat Lady Has Not Sung Yet. Let us see how that will play, do the Syrians come charging out to give a battle, or will they remain in their hideouts safely in knowledge that Damascus, and this battle, has been saved already.

Here's the link to my Groghead's AAR section for turn #15. You will need to be logged in there to see the screenshots.

Here's the final position of my tankers, including that one troop with an obvious dead wish, ending up without APs at the hostile Syrian plateau there. It looks empty, but only because I have not begun a turn with a LOS there. And no recon assets available either, for the instant Recon Reveal action they are so good at!
