Steam Key Not Working For SOW Collectors Edition

Just Ordered SOW Collectors edition and tried to enter Steam key, It told me it was for expansion and required the base game to be owned.
if you have copied pasted it into the steam box and it didn't work, have you also tried to manually type it?
