This is an old school Classic scenario designed by John Boomershine that covers the planned Allied Invasion of Japan. The scenario needed a little love with the passage of time, and several years ago with Larry Fulkerson's help we came up with this mod. It was made during the time of TOAW v3.4 but it was never posted anywhere officially.

Does this scenario need to be opened in the TOAW IV editor to convert it, or has that already been done? I'm kind of new to this game, but I have picked up on some things from reading this forum.

What is the difference between this scenario and the one that came with TOAW IV?
WWII-Asia / Olympic 45

Of course not, I wouldn't do that to you [;)]
Actually you are probably correct to ask, because while you can check the .sce file date and see that I just saved it [with IV], that doesn't really tell you which version it was saved with. Also, I left the version # in the Scenario Briefing as 3.4, because I didn't actually have time to play it with IV, I only opened it and checked a few things. That's how busy it is with TOAW, imagine what the developers go thru !

This is a 7 year old post although i want to ask something, the scenario has always seemed very good however coastal artillery just wipes too easily the us navy&army which makes it basically unplayable, also it claims you are using the wrong equipment file. Has anyone else who played it figured out something? (besides disbanding the coastal batteries)

Battleship in this scenario has durability of 128. And scenario uses default naval attrition of 10 points.
This makes ships too fragile.
Naval attrition can be set in editor to higher value.
Something below 50 makes ships too fragile.
Values around 100 makes ships tough.
Choose something that suits you
PS: Wrong eqp file will cease to exist after using editor.

Hey Steve:
I d/l'ed your scenario "Olympic 635" and it gave me the following error. What do I do to fix this?
